2022 Snow Conditions: The Forecast Looks Good For The French Ski Season

18th January, 2022

It is officially 2022, and now is the perfect time to get your ski gear on and hit the slopes. After a tough couple of years due to Covid-19, we are eagerly prepared for this year’s ski season, in the hopes of a perfect break away from all the mania of everyday life. Whilst there has been debate around the conditions for the ski season, it is now becoming official; this ski season is going to be one to remember. Here is a rundown of some of our partner resorts weather reports for the season;

Val Thorens

Sitting pretty at 2300m high, Val Thorens is a snow-sure resort. This ski season, there is high, fresh snow, spreading over the three Valleys which it offers. With about 600 km of piste, Val Thorens is a great place to enjoy all that the French Alps have to offer at this time of year. The current snow report states that there is 202 cm at the base, and 151 cm at the summit – hopefully this will be sticking around as the season progresses.

Val d’Isere

Val d’Isere is a firm favourite here at Vertice, and rightfully so. The view of the mountains makes for an incredible experience as you glide over 300km of pristine pistes. The weather this ski season is due to be pretty good, with 113 cm at the base currently, and 145 cm at the summit.

Morzine

Only an hour from the airport, Morzine makes for a seamless and easy travel experience. The weather for this resort seems very promising, with 50 cm currently at the base, and 224 cm of packed powder at the summit, covering the landscape in fresh snow. Morzine has plenty of beautiful pistes and different slopes, so it’s definitely worth adding to your ski destination list.
